I. Великобританія розташована на Британських островах. Британські островилежать на захід від Континенту (Європи) і складаються з двох великих островів
(Великобританія та Ірландія) і безліч маленьких. Великобританія іпівнічна частина Ірландії утворюють Сполучене Королівство. Загальна площа
Сполученого Королівства становить 244.000 км2.
Населення Великобританії понад 56 мільйонів чоловік. Це одна із самихгустонаселених країн у світі. Середня щільність населення - 230 чоловік наодин квадратний кілометр, один з найвищих у світі.
Західне узбережжя Великобританії омивається Атлантичним океаном і
Ірландським морем. Східне узбережжя омивається водами Північного моря.

Великобританія - це парламентарістская монархія. Це означає, щоіснує Корольова (або Король) і Парламент. Королева майже не маєвлади в країні. Закони видаються Парламентом.
Британський Парламент складається з двох палат: Палати Лордів і Палати
Громад. У Палаті Лордів більш численна. Місця в ній спадкові.
Палата Громад складається з 635 членів. Вони обираються на загальних виборах
(таємним голосуванням).
Уряд очолює Прем'єр - Міністр, що є лідеромпартії, яка перемогла на виборах.
